List your family law practice on divorcd

divorcd is an independent UK guide to divorce, separation and life afterwards. Solicitors, mediators, financial advisers, therapists and accredited divorce coaches can join as partners: a clearly labelled paid listing that appears first when people look for help, with introductions sent to a private partner area. Founding partners pay once for two years.

What is divorcd?

divorcd helps people from the first thought of separating to life afterwards, with plain-English guides, free tools and a directory of charities and public services. Every guide is written by our founder, Paige Thomson, with each figure checked against official sources such as GOV.UK and the date it was checked.

People use divorcd to answer the questions that come before, and alongside, professional advice:

Who reads divorcd

People at every stage of a separation: those still deciding, those in the middle of a divorce or a financial settlement, and those sorting things out afterwards. Our guides are written around the questions people ask at each stage, and Get matched is there for the point where they need advice on their own situation.

We are a young site, so we don't publish visitor numbers yet. Partners see their own figures in the partner area: how often their profile is viewed, how often they are shown in Find an expert and Get matched, and every introduction.

How introductions work

An introduction happens only when a person chooses you. Until then, nobody's details are passed on.

  1. Someone looks for help

They answer Get matched (the type of help, their stage, what needs sorting and where they live), or open your profile and ask for an introduction.

  2. Get matched shows who covers their area

The site lists two or three professionals who do that work where they live. Partners appear first and are labelled as paid listings. Nobody at divorcd picks who is best for them.

  3. They choose you

They press Request a call back on your listing, or ask us to put them in touch. That is the consent we rely on to share their details with you.

  4. You accept it in your partner area

We email you that an introduction is waiting, with no personal details in the email. Accept it to see their name, email, phone number and what they need.

  5. You keep it up to date

Mark each introduction as contacted, then close it. If you can't help, close it and tell us, and we'll find them someone else.

The founding partner offer

Pay for your first year and your second year is free. One payment covers two years and never renews on its own.

  • A flat fee, never referral fees. We don't charge per introduction or take a share of what clients pay you.
  • Nothing automatic. Before your two years are up, we email you the price to continue. If you don't, your listing goes back to a free basic one.
  • If divorcd closes during your two years, we refund the unused part.
  • Not ready to pay? Firms already listed keep a free basic listing, labelled as listed from public information.

The full terms are on the claim page, where you confirm your details and pay securely through Stripe. You'll receive an invoice by email.

What partners get

Everything is set up for you once you've paid, and you can change your profile from the partner area at any time.

  • First place in Find an expert and in Get matched results for the areas you cover, with the label "divorcd partner · paid listing".
  • Introductions in a private partner area, where you accept them, see contact details and record what happened. Sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, with no password to manage.
  • A fuller profile: your fees up front, the reply time you promise, a photo, a short video introduction, the languages you work in and whether you see people online or in person.
  • Your own statistics: profile views, times shown in Find an expert, Get matched appearances, website clicks and introductions, month by month.
  • An optional offer for divorcd members, such as a discount or a free first consultation, shown only inside the members' area. Your public listing says that members get an exclusive offer, which gives members a reason to choose you.
  • Half-price membership for your clients: your own code giving your clients 50% off their first year of divorcd membership, £24.50 instead of £49.
  • Articles under your name in Advice from our partners, at no extra cost, clearly labelled as written by your firm, with a link to your website. Every article must be accurate and useful rather than a sales pitch, and we check it before it goes live: Writing for divorcd.
  • Online services and pension report specialists appear in our comparison of divorce services rather than Find an expert, with the "divorcd partner" label on their listing. Paying never changes the order of the comparison.

The checks we make before listing anyone

Before anyone is listed, we check them on the public register that applies to their work. Each profile links to that register so people can check it themselves.

Solicitors

Firm regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, checked on the SRA Solicitors Register.

Mediators

At least one mediator accredited by the Family Mediation Council, checked on the FMC register.

Financial advisers

Firm authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority, checked on the Financial Services Register.

Therapists and counsellors

Registered with a professional body that keeps a public register, such as the BACP.

Divorce coaches

Coaching isn't regulated, so we list coaches with current accreditation from the ICF, EMCC or Association for Coaching, or an equivalent, and at least three years of professional coaching.

Every claim

We check that the email address used to claim a listing matches the firm's own website before we change anything.

Financial advisers: a listing for an FCA-authorised firm can be a financial promotion, so your firm approves the wording before it goes live, and again whenever you change it. We keep it factual: who you are, what you help with, your fees and your FCA reference number. The partner area asks you to confirm this approval each time you send a change.

A listing on divorcd is information, not a recommendation, and we don't vet professionals beyond these checks.

How paid listings are labelled

People should always be able to tell an advert from a free listing, so every paid listing says so.

Partners, on cards, profiles and Get matched results.

Listed from public information · not a divorcd partnerEveryone else, listed for free from public registers and their own websites.

  • Partners appear first and are always labelled. Being a partner never changes what our guides say.
  • We don't publish reviews, star ratings or testimonials for anyone, paid or unpaid.
  • Charities and public services in our directory are never charged.

Questions professionals ask

How much does it cost to become a divorcd partner?

Founding partners pay once and are listed for two years: £495 for solicitors, £395 for financial advisers, £295 for mediators and £195 for therapists and coaches. No VAT is added. The payment covers your first year, and your second year is free.

Do you charge referral fees or take a share of client fees?

No. Partners pay a flat fee. We don't charge per introduction and we don't take a share of anything a client pays you, so there is no reason for us to send anyone to one professional over another.

What happens when the two years are up?

Nothing renews automatically. Before your two years end, we email you the price to continue. If you decide not to, your listing goes back to a free basic listing, labelled as listed from public information.

Will our details be passed to anyone without their agreement?

We only pass on a person's details when they choose you, by asking for a call back or asking us to put them in touch. You then accept the introduction in your partner area to see their name, email, phone number and what they need help with.

Do you publish reviews or star ratings?

No. divorcd doesn't publish reviews, star ratings or testimonials for any professional, paid or unpaid. Profiles show facts: what you help with, your fees, where you work and your registration, with a link to check it on the regulator's register.

Can professionals in Scotland and Northern Ireland join?

Yes. Get matched only shows solicitors and mediators who can help under the law where the person lives, so tell us which UK nations you cover when you claim your listing.
