About Scottish Courts: Simplified (do-it-yourself) divorce

The simplified procedure is a cheaper, form-based divorce for people who have been separated for a year (with consent) or two years (without), have no children under 16 and no financial matters to settle. The sheriff court fee is £156 from April 2026, and you may not have to pay if you get legal aid.
